Keeping Up Appearances

As per the 13th Amendment in the U.S. Constitution, because I am in prison, I am legally a slave, so slavery Never ended, it just evolved with the times, like all things that wish not to go extinct. Just as back then people watched numbly to the inhumane treatment of slaves until a group of conscientious abolitionists decided to fight to free and rescue those slaves and do away with slavery all together. It's the same today, people watch numbly as if we are just necessary cogs, besides those groups of conscientious human beings that fight for prison reform all together, while seeking to free the wrongly convicted or overly harsh convicted prisoners. Slavery invented capitalism, capitalism created the emancipation proclamation, the emancipation created the civil war, the civil war left the south destroyed, the destruction created prisons, and the prisons created convict leasing where inmates services could be sold to businesses since there was no more free labor. And now there was a spike in arrests in order to get cheap labor to rebuild the south, so there were many made up crimes or overly sentenced black men in order to get continued slave labor...fast forward, now prisoners are property of the state, the state receives state aid and money per inmate while claiming each individual as apart of their population, and prisons can be bought by private industries, and are invested in on the stock exchange! Justice is all political, and politicians are all about money, and money is paid for another's labor-which is capitalism. Food for thought, prison reform has made sweeping changes in the feds, which is government run, but not the states ran prisons. Maybe because on a state level, if the presidents were to affect the state's money by eliminating mass incarceration, it'd affect their political relationships and promises aka no reelection.
